Dear esteemed MFC members,
For your information, the Ministry of Human Resources has released a press statement regarding the issue of public holiday on November 18 and 19, 2022 due to Polling Day.
Based on the press statement it stated clearly that employers in the private sector are allowed to:
a) Allow workers to choose November 18 and 19, 2022 as a public holiday; OR
b) Offer paid replacement leave to workers on any other working day; OR
c) In the event of no replacement leave being offered, workers being required to work on November 18 and 19, 2022 are entitled to wages in accordance to a public holiday.
MFC urges all members to adhere to the government’s directive to avoid any potential issues which might arise in the future.

诚致全体 MFC 会员：
谨此通知，马来西亚人力资源部把 2022 年 11 月 18 & 19 日列为公共假期后，发布新闻声明通知这两天特假可视为有薪假期！
根据声明，它明确表示私人界雇主可以：
a) 允许工人选择 2022 年 11 月 18 和 19 日为公共假期；或者
b) 任员工在其他工作日提供带薪补假；或者
c) 如果没有提供带薪补假，在 2022 年 11 月 18 和 19 日工作的员工，有权获得公假薪资。
马来西亚家具总会敦促所有会员遵守这项指南，以免犯错而受到处罚。
