This is the latest update regarding the Workers Minimum Standards of Housing and Amenities (Amendment) Act 2019.
Please be informed that the government has also made it mandatory for employers to fill up the form attached based on Section 24D (1) of the act prior to placing their workers in their respective accommodation.
Some requirements of the accommodation are: 1) All spaces and facilities in the accommodation must be based on original usage and cannot be modified. 2) The renovation of the accommodation which alters the number of occupants requires a new application. 3) The facilities and accommodation provided must be in accordance to the guideline provided
Failure to comply with the requirement will result in a fine up to RM 50,000 or prison not exceeding 1 year or both.

我们曾于2020年6月2日发出上述通告,唯目前政府规定雇主在安排员工入住其宿舍前,必须根据该法令第24D(1)条填妥上述表格。
以下为宿舍的要求:
1)宿舍中的所有空间和设施必须以原来的用途为基础,且不可修改。
2)改变居住者人数的宿舍装修,需重新申请。
3)所提供的设施和宿舍必须符合指南内准则。
不遵守条规者将被罚款最高RM50,000或不超过 1 年监禁,抑或两者兼施。
